Like all good millennials, we met online. First impressions were positive as both of our profiles were plastered with pictures of mountains we had hiked and our cats. Patrick then asked if the friend in one of Jenny's pictures was a person he had worked with one summer in college. It was indeed, and after a quick flurry of vetting texts (thanks Carolyn!) it was confirmed he was indeed a good guy and worthy of meeting over a drink. The rest is history!
Once upon a time, we were in the midst of a pandemic. Everything was closed and people were stuck at home from dusk to dawn and dawn to dusk. We decided to escape the lockdown for a trip to nature, a hike up Mount Everett in western MA. The hike was harder than it should have been (lockdown was pretty rough for some of us), and the summit was foggier than we would have liked, but the moment was all right enough for Patrick to say "this isn't quite how I drew it up... Jenny, would you marry me?" as he opened the ring box to show Jenny her soon-to-be engagement ring. Jenny, only moderately surprised (she was well aware the ring was delivered as we were locked down), started tearing up and nodded her head.
