We're Getting Married!

the Groom- I wanted the proposal to take place where we first connected and reflect everything we love- nature, adventure, and the meaningful moments we've shared throughout our relationship. So I planned a day that felt familiar but with a surprise ending she never saw coming 💍 I booked a Airbnb just outside the entrance of Sequoia National Park for two days. The place had what I envisioned - a private staircase that led down to a secluded riverbank on the Kaweah River. I knew this was the the spot! On day one of the rental I managed to slip away from Lupe (🌲🏎💨) for a few hours, check in, and begin to transform the scene for the next day. (Hoping that the decorations would hold up over night 🙏🏼😬) On day two for our "date night" we went for a short hike in the Sequoias - something we always enjoyed doing together. It felt just like old times 💞. After the hike, we headed back to the Airbnb to get ready for dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Gateway. While she showered, I sprang into action. I met with the photographer I had hired and began to add the finishing touches on her proposal experience. I lined the staircase with candles, soft string lights, scattered rose petals, and carefully placed photos of us from throughout our relationship on the railing of the staircase- snapshots of our adventures, travels, and all the special moments we've shared. When she was ready, I told her we had some time before dinner and suggested a walk down to the river. (This was it! 😅) As we came down the stairs, she began to grasp what was happening.. We paused at each photo, reminiscing about the memories they held- our first hike, memorable vacays, weekend getaways, silly selfies. 🧡 At the bottom, right by the water's edge, was the final surprise; a decorated proposal set-up that I put together the previous day. As the river flowed beside us and the candles flickered, I asked my best friend to marry me- with a photographer quietly capturing it all. It was intimate, meaningful, and perfect for us. A moment we'll remember forever 👩‍❤️‍👨 👫
