How We Met

And I'll thank my lucky stars for that night

Grace and Pat's story begins quite a few years earlier than most may expect. The first time they unknowingly crossed paths was at a mutual friends quinciñera when they were sophomores in high school. Pat was part of the quinciñera party and Grace was there with her soccer teammates. Though their paths may have crossed for the 1st time that day, they did not meet. It wasn’t until 2013 where they’d cross paths again and their two paths became one. It all really started in the fall of 2013. Grace played soccer on the SeaLions with Nikki and they quickly became great friends. Nikki started to bring Grace along on the weekends to hang out with the Poway boys. Nikki was a long time friend of Pat’s.. they went to Poway High together. It wasn’t until October 18th, 2013 when they officially hit it off at the Jason Aldean concert. A party bus with friends, cowboy boots, good country music, and a few drinks is all it took for these two to dance the night away. Ever since that night Pat and Grace have been inseparable.

The Proposal

05.26.16

Fast forward 3 years, Pat and Grace took the trip of a lifetime to Tulum, Mexico, a small township 100 miles south of Cancun. It wasn’t even 24 hours after arriving before Pat had bigger plans in mind than Grace could have ever imagined. They ventured out to the Coba Ruins at sunrise on May 26, 2016 and were one of the first to make it to the top of the Coba Pyramid. Pat set up his Go-Pro tricking Grace into believing it was just for a picture. However, he set it to record and grabbed Grace’s hands…shaking like a leaf… he dropped to one knee and proposed in front of a crowd of strangers. She said “You’re crazy!!” and shortly after… “YES!” followed by cheers from the crowd. They spent the next 45 minutes enjoying their first moments as newly engaged and taking in the one of a kind views of the Yucatan jungles. Fast forward to May 26, 2018, Pat and Grace will tie the knot exactly 2 years to the day they became engaged. They are beyond excited to share this special day with each of you as they embark on their next great adventure together.
