After a couple months of planning, Patrick surprised Fernie for their one year anniversary with a trip to his hometown in Barcelona. Their adventure went on to Venice and Paris where she had dreamed of going for as long as she could remember. During a walk down a quiet and lonely side of the park by the Eiffel tower he decided there was a nice spot for some pictures. His friend, who had tagged along to capture their adventures in Europe, set up his camera as he had done many times during the trip. Finally, he told Fernie to face toward the tower for one of the shots. As she was turning back around, Patrick was getting down on one knee beside her and asked her to marry him. She said yes!
