Like more and more couples these days, we met on the dating app, Hinge. You match with people by commenting on one of their photos or answers to questions on their profile. The person who received the message can then decide whether or not to match with you. One of the photos on Colleen's profile was a picture of her dog, Benny. In late December 2022 Patrick scrolled past all the other photos and prompts on Colleen's profile and commented on the picture of Benny. "Tell me everything about this cutie." Little did Patrick know, there was no better way to Colleen's heart than through her dog. We had our first date on January 6, 2023 at Heine Brothers after Colleen got off work. We were instantly comfortable with each other. The next day, Patrick drove up to Colleen's work just to give her a hug (and maybe a kiss or two) in the few minutes Colleen had between clients. We bonded over our shared sense of humor, tv shows, and, of course, our love for Benny. Fast forward to October 2025 at Hard Truth Distillery in Brown County, Indiana when Patrick got down on one knee and asked Colleen to marry him. It turns out that, as marketed, Hinge really is the app that's meant to be deleted. We can't wait to spend forever together, and we are so thankful to everyone participating in our big day!
