Patrick and I met at school a little over two years ago. We were doing pro-life outreach together and the drive there was long, so we just started talking on the way. And that’s where our story begins. After the very first outreach, Patrick asked for my number and texted me to ask if I wanted to study together the next afternoon. Of course, I went, and we wound up talking for hours and hours! We stayed friends for a few months after that, just talking and spending time together. Then, something incredible happened! Patrick asked me on a date! I was so nervous and so was he, but we had a ton of fun and figured out that we liked each other... a lot! We both planned to go to the March for Life with a group of our friends and I didn’t know it at the time, but he had planned to sit with me the entire time (5hrs there and back!) He was on a misson. He wanted to ask o be his girlfriend and he did! Of course, there were a lot of adventures leading up to that momentous moment and they are pretty hilarious, so if you want to know about them, you’ll have to ask us to tell you the whole story. We dated for about a year and a half and fell for each other pretty hard before COVID happened and changed everything. In this case, it was for the better. We were separated when it started, because we thought it was important to be with our families during a scary time full of unknowns. Unfortuately, our families are about 2,500 miles apart, so we couldn’t see each other except through Whatsapp. If you haven’t heard it already, let me tell you, long distance is the absolute worst. Yes, you grow good communication skills and learn to be creative and intentional about spending time with one another, but my goodness, it is hard! Patrick really wanted me to move closer to him, so, he got an enagagement ring and proposed to me on July 5th, 2020 in a gorgeous meadow in the middle of the mountains and I said yes! And now, we’re getting married and are so excited to share our joy with you!
