Of all the stresses of wedding planning, we did not think Covid would have been one when we got engaged! 2020 was a rollcoaster of a year and after canceling our large ceremony for 6/20/20, we decided to get married in our backyard in front of our parents and bridal party. While we wish we could celebrate this special day with all of our friends and family, we just couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’ and make it official! We much appreciate your continued love and support, and while we feel it was the right decision, we hope you understand it wasn’t easy to make. We are excited to try this again the way we origenally envisioned. Your safety is our priority and we are following CDC guidelines as they update.
Our paths first crossed on the first day of college passing through the quad, but our story starts second semester at a line dancing exchange with our sorority/fraternity. Cindy was there for an excuse to wear fringe boots, Pat was there for the beer. A conversation at the keg and a slice of pepperoni pizza later and it was meant to be. 9+ years later we are still each other's favorite person.
Fast forward 9 years, Pat asked to go hiking at Devils Lake on a mild January day. Devils Lake is our favorite spot in Wisconsin to spend warm summer days on the water. As we are hiking, Pat notices people walking on the frozen lake. His first reaction is "How cool!" and Cindy's was "That's slightly terrifying." We walk out onto the lake at sunset (only about knee deep!) and Pat gets down on one knee. It is now our favorite spot regardless of the season.
