How We Met

First Comes School, Then Comes Marriage

Patrick and Catherine met, unofficially, 25 years ago by attending the same K-12 schools. Patrick was a grade ahead, but they shared the same hallways and classrooms throughout the years. They even attended parties together as friend groups merged. After high school, coincidentally enough, they both went off to the same college. Again, they crossed paths often, but the timing wasn't right. Catherine moved to the East Coast for work where she lived for 5 years, while Patrick moved to Chicago for the same reason. However, they both decided to move back home. This is where the romance began. They aren't embarrassed to say that a dating app was what actually reconnected the pair. Seeing someone you grew up with on a dating app made the entire experience less awkward, not to say they both weren't extremely nervous going on their first date. Trust me Patrick almost canceled last minute. Patrick had the best first date idea of going to the planetarium, where they could both look up at the stars together. Instead, they got yelled by others attending the show due to their constant jokes and loud laughter. Patrick had Catherine's heart after that first date even if he was completely oblivious. Joke one turned into joke two, into joke three and four and five hundred until Patrick took the big step and asked Catherine to spend a lifetime of laughter together.
