Patrick and Alayne met on Ok Cupid! back in November of 2014. They had dinner in NYC on their first date where the waitress commented on how cute of a couple they were and asked them how long they had been together. That's where the fairytale began. They shared their first kiss at Rockefeller Center after watching the ice skaters and exploring the Christmas decorations. They met each other's families and discovered they shared the same warmth and values as one another. They enjoyed countless romantic dinners, cheered for one another at each milestone, supported each other through difficult loss, made wonderful travel buddies, and became the best of roommates. After years of love and happiness, Patrick took Alayne to the most romantic restaurant in the West Village and asked her if she would give him the privilege of marrying her. She exclaimed, "Yes!" through many tears and they have both been on cloud 9 ever since. Now, they are making preparations to host an engagement party, bridal shower, and wedding for all of their closest friends and family. They are elated to share this journey with the most important people in their lives and so lucky to be living a storybook life together.
Patrick took Alayne on a date to One if by Land, Two if by Sea in the West Village. The restaurant was named after Henry W. Longfellow's poem about the infamous Paul Revere Ride. It is rich in history and is a former carriage house owned by Aaron Burr. It is known to be the most romantic restaurant in New York City and is in the top five in the world. The couple enjoyed an exquisite five-course meal filled with laughter and love. The two were about to receive their dessert course when the waiter brought a covered silver platter to the table. In one swift move he exclaimed, "This is just for the lady." and uncovers a bed of red rose petals with an open black velvet ring box sitting in the center of them. Patrick then grabbed the box and got down on one knee and asked Alayne if she would, "Give him the distinct privilege of marrying her?". Through tears of joy, Alayne said, "YES!". The tables clapped and cheered for the newly engaged couple. He placed the ring on her finger and the two of them floated on cloud 9 for the remainder of the night. They have been floating ever since, with no plans to come down.
