Patrick and Madeleine met on ESF's Timbersports team. Legend has it that Madeleine impressed Patrick by wearing Carharts to the first practice that she attended.

Eventually, we started dating. One more entry onto the long list of relationships that started on the woodsmen team. Feels nice to be part of such a long and storied legacy.

Right after we started dating we adopted Peavey. Or, rather, she adopted us, letting herself into our shared Syracuse apartment. She's been running our lives ever since.

In 2019, Patrick graduated, leaving Madeleine behind for two more years of school.

Patrick moved to Glens Falls where he worked as a forester. In March of 2020 Madeleine ended up stuck with him in his tiny apartment, occasionally going to work with him just to get out of the house.

In May of 2020, desperate for more space, we moved to North Creek – Patrick's home town. Our new apartment was much bigger and centerally located for all our favorite outdoor activites.

Now fully sucked into the North Creek rabbit hole, we spend as much time on the river as possible.

We don't raft in costume every day, but this is our best effort. Point to you if you know which classic children's book characters we are dressed as!

After a year in North Creek, Madeleine graduated from ESF – from the comfort of our own backyard!

Madeleine then went back to ESF to start a Master's program, but working mostly remotely left plenty of room for more adventures.

Then in March of 2023, we went to Arizona to raft the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon for 3 weeks...

...where Patrick proposed at Nankoweap Mesa.

Patick thought that he was being sneaky, but he also had brought a single bottle of champagne on the 16 person trip, so Madeleine knew he was up to something.

The bottle of champagne did make an appearance in the celebration.

Since then, Madeleine finished her Master's, Patrick switched jobs...

... and we added a dog, Nikko, to the family...

...but we are still living in North Creek, having lots of fun on the water.

And, that brings us to now, wedding time!
