She was one of the first friends I had in the Washington DC area. Always ready to grab a beer with me. Patti is the friend who will tell you like it is. You'll always get a straight, honest answer, even if its not the one you want. Like that one time...I'll never tell. She's the hype girl. The one that gets you excited. The biggest cheerleader.

Then a few years later I ended up being roommates with him again, before befriending his sister Shukria; my last roommate as a single woman. She got the pleasure of hearing all about the "new guy". Little did we know then he would become my husband. Shukria is the one who I laugh with...A LOT. She says the funniest things and has a contagious laugh. Her family has made me feel like an honorary sibling.
