FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP in the RSVP section of this website by August 15.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5 pm. If you get to the Community House early feel free to walk around, take some pictures, and get settled in!

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Formal attire - suits for men and midi/floor-length dresses or dressy pantsuits for women. When considering shoe options, please note that the wedding is outside and the grounds are brick (we will provide flips flops for the dancing portion!).

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we’re hoping the weather will cooperate, it may be a little warm out. All events at the Community House Winnetka will take place outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, we'll move all events inside of the Community House Winnetka.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

No, please don’t bring any additional guests that were not included on your invitation!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Sorry, unless we explicitly stated, kids are not allowed. Our cousins will be the only kids at our wedding.

Question

Is there transportation for the wedding?

Answer

Yes, bus service will be provided to and from the DoubleTree and the Community House Winnetka. Please see the Travel & Accommodations section for additional details.

Question

Is there parking for the wedding?

Answer

Yes, there’s free parking at the Community House Winnetka. We'll have a sign on the main road for where to pull into the parking lot. The parking lot is directly in front of where our wedding is taking place. Please note that overnight parking is strongly discouraged at the Community House. We will be providing shuttle service to and from the hotel. If you need to leave your vehicle overnight, please inform the staff before leaving so they do not have the vehicle towed in the morning.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please detail any dietary requests when you RSVP.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We made a hotel room block at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - North Shore Conference Center. Please see the Travel & Accommodations section for additional details. You're welcome to stay anywhere but bus service will only be provided to and from the recommended DoubleTree. There are limited AirBnB/VRBO options in the North Shore area as it's generally residential. Below are additional hotels options nearby: - Sheraton Chicago Northbrook Hotel - Residence Inn Chicago Wilmette/Skokie - Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-North Shore/Skokie You're also welcome to stay in the city but please account for additional travel time due to traffic.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Since many people are traveling in for our wedding we wanted to have as much time to see everyone as possible! Please see the Schedule section for additional details on our other events.

Question

Are there recommendations for things to do if I have additional time?

Answer

If you plan to stay longer, we've included some recommendations for things to do in and around Chicago. Please see the Things To Do section for additional details.
