I talked Patrick into volunteering to be an adult leader at cloverleaf 4-H Camp (Rockeagle). We were going to taking roughly 100 kids to summer camp for 5 days. I was ready to share with him the organization I have come to love within the past 11 years. Little did I know, he was going to share how much he loved me, and what a perfect place for him to do it at. It was the second day of camp, and Patrick has just spent all morning helping kids do high rope activities. I spent all morning with Willa in the pool. Noon was the time that the adult leaders play the counselors in softball, and I was so excited for Patrick to play. Willi and I were getting ready to meet Patrick to go to the field. Willi insisted that she should wear Willa in the baby backpack. So I made myself some macoroni and cheese, and we started to leave. As we approached Cherokee dock, the dock that I taught caneoing at all summer in 2016, Patrick started walking towards Rockeagle Lake. Willi turned around and stole my mac and cheese, and I was shocked. Patrick pulled me over to the dock, and thats when he went down on one knee. He pulled out the most beautiful ring, but I was so distracted by his beautiful words that I was just shocked. Little did I know, he planned for all if my 4-H friends to be hiding, watching, and taking pictures of our special moment. I can’t wait to share his last name for the rest of my life.
