Due to the date we had originally planned being a Holy Saturday, we will not be proceeding with the wedding for April 19th. I understand that graduation is near the new date, so we understand if you are unable to attend the wedding. Thank you and sorry for any inconveniences.
I'll never forget this day because it was the day Juan asked me to be his girlfriend, and we started dating. Believe it or not, we met on a dating app, a month prior, and started talking. About a week or so of messaging we decided to meet face-to-face. The first time he asked me on a date, I was really excited to finally meet him. But, unfortunately, I was not able to do so. Anyone who knows my family, knows that house work comes before fun. Juan did not understand this. Not until after finally meeting my family. At this point in time he was contemplating asking me again, because, to this day, he believes that I stood him up. Well, he decided to go with his better judgement and ask me anyway. The next day he asked me out for ice cream and he decided to meet up at Caliches. He wanted to meet up here because in case I catfished him, or the date went horribly wrong, he could make his quick escape. Little did he know, it was going to be the best decision he made. Fast forward to 3 years later. Throughout our relationship, Juan had always discussed his plans of moving back home to California, to be closer to his family. He had decided to make this happen, once he was no longer in the Military. Well, he had asked me to go with him but I was hesitant because we were still only dating, and I would leave behind my family, friends, and the life I built in Alamogordo. On February 17, 2018 I was out with my best friend having dinner and drinks. Juan picks me up and we head home. As we get home and get to the door, he says that he left something in the car. Juan starts taking a while and I didn't hear the car door open or shut. I go to turn around to make sure he is ok, when I noticed him down on one knee with a ring in his hand. He proceeded to ask the words that would change my life forever. I started to ugly cry after he asked me and of course, I started feeling nauseous. I ran to the bathroom because, lets face it, I was a mess and had been drinking. At this time he said, "you could have just told me no", with a smile on his face. This was a day I'll always remember. We have been through struggles and hardships, but we have also been through successes and great accomplishments together. There is no one else in this world I would want to spend this life with. This may be only part of our story, but its also the beginning!
