Kayla and Scott met a whole decade ago through mutual friends. They quickly got to know each other, and even after life took them in different directions, they somehow always found their way back to one another over the years. Their story lived somewhere in between friendship and “maybe someday.” What started as an easy friendship slowly became something impossible to ignore — the kind of connection that never really faded, no matter how much time or distance separated them. Living states apart meant timing was never quite simple, but no matter what season of life they were in, they always stayed connected and never truly stopped being part of each other’s lives. Before long, Scott insisted Kayla come visit him in South Carolina. So Kayla — and of course Hunter — made the trip down to see him. What started as one visit quickly turned into many trips back and forth as they realized they loved being together in person far more than being apart. Less than a year later, Kayla made the permanent move to South Carolina. Something about it just felt right — familiar, safe, and undeniably like home. The rest unfolded naturally after that. They moved in together later that year, bought their first home soon after, and began building a life filled with love, laughter, family, friends, and two very spoiled fur babies. After years of friendship, timing, and choosing each other over and over again, they cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people they love most. “In this life and the next.” ♡

After years of being each other’s “right person, wrong timing,” Scott finally decided it was time to make it official. In the summer of 2025, Scott quietly went ring shopping with one very important consultant by his side — Kayla’s little brother, Aurelius. In the months leading up to the proposal, he also made sure to get the blessing and support of many of the people closest to Kayla, something that meant the world to her. In March of 2026, what started as a weekend trip to Myrtle Beach with friends turned into one of the most important moments of their lives. As the sun set over the beach and everyone gathered for photos, Scott got down on one knee and asked Kayla to spend forever with him. And of course, she said yes… after making him sweat for just a second first. ♡
