Reggie has been my family barber since 2012. When I took my son Jeremy to Platinum Cuts Barbershop where Reggie worked, I did not make an appointment. I walked into the barbershop it was not welcoming at all, I consequently was never greeted by anyone; I assumed all the barbers were too busy with their clients. Luckily for me Reggie was free and ready to assist us. While cutting my son's hair we chatted until he was done. When Reggie finished with my son's hair he handed me his business card, next time you want your son’s haircut give me a call and make an appointment; Hence forward he became Jeremy's regular barber. After awhile I decided to venture into exploring different hairstyles therefore making the decision to try a shorter hairstyle I went to Reggie for a haircut. Loving my new found look Reggie became my regular barber as well. While cutting my hair we talked about our personal lives and he would always tell me, you can call me whenever you want to talk. For many years I believe he had a crush on me! During our conversation he would often tell me that he wanted to make me his wife, but because of our age difference neither one of us thought it would be possible; On top of everything we both were in previous relationships. I would stop coming to the barbershop for months sometimes years but no matter what, when I would call to make an appointment for either my son or myself; Reggie would squeeze us in even if he was booked up. He always took his time servicing Jeremy and I, thous giving Reggie and I more time to catch up. Over the years I have invited Reggie to several events my family has hosted. Reggie would tell me he would attend, and would never show up. The last event that I invited Reggie to I explained to him, that if he didn’t show up, I would never invite him to another function again. He used to tell me the leanest lies about showing up to my events. Lol… I believe it was because I was with someone else. Last but not least and I did mean last; as far as his invite, to Reggie from Patience, 2020 was it. I was having my graduation and my two boy's birthday at my mother's place. In preparation for the party I took the boys to Reggie to get their haircut. Jeremy my oldest mentioned to Reggie that his mom was having a graduation/his birthday party today. Jeremy extended an invite to Reggie. While deciding if I should finalize said invite to Reggie; I told Reggie, even if I invited you, you would not show up. Reluctantly I said yes to Jeremy’s invite. Reggie told me to give him one last chance and I did. Reggie came with a guest, and he and his guest were late. Subsequently fast forwarding to the end of the night ;While l packing food for Reggie he told my mother, he wanted to make me his wife. My mother’s reply was if God says so then it shall be. We talked again, but this time he asked for me to connect with him the next day. I did not. I waited for 2 days to go by, then I texted him. From October 22, 2020, we have been inseparable to a point where his house has become just an expensive storage unit, lol… We are so excited to begin our journey together and to blend our families and become one.
