I met Hogan back in 2006 when we were just in 6th grade. For me, it was a crush at first sight, but Hogan knocked me off that pedestal real quick when he said he could only see me as a friend. Okay… I’ll take it. But I was going to make him fall in love with me one way or another. To make the long story short, three years later during freshman year, we started dating! You would never find one of us without the other. Towards the end of our senior year, we took a break only because I was heading to college at Eastern Kentucky University and Hogan was off to basic training for the United States Air Force. We knew that if we were meant to be then we would find ourselves back with one another. While Hogan was away at basic, we kept in contact. I received a letter almost every week. It even got to the point where the housing staff gave me my letters before mail even went into everyone’s mailboxes. My favorite letter from Hogan during basic was one where he explained that they were heading back to base and they played music for the first time since he had started training. He wrote to me that a song played that made him think of me. He said he had never heard it before, but he thought it was called "All of Me." It has been our song ever since! Hogan's plan, once he was home from basic and tech school, was to go to the University of Kentucky, but he changed his mind and ended up going to EKU where I was. We got back together and two years later, I graduated with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and moved back home to Louisville. Hogan decided that EKU wasn't for him and he transferred to the University of Louisville (I'd like to think that he just didn't want to be the far away from me, but who knows haha).
