Some people fall in love at school. Some people fall in love at work. Some people fall in love in random places at random times. How do most people our age fall in love? ...... online! After talking online on a cold December afternoon, I (Pate) was invited over to Grant's to drink wine and meet each other in person. I brought the wine, he brought the conversation. We met, and instantly had a connection. We talked for hours! Before we knew it, it was after midnight, and we both had to work the next day. Three days later, I asked Grant to go on our first official date in West Hartford. We went to a sushi restaurant and fell in love over sake and wasabi. The rest is history!
It was a beautiful day in Los Cabos, Mexico. We had a busy day drinking mojitos by the pool, sunbathing, and eating the best shrimp tacos ever! Later that night we got dressed up and went to dinner at one of the resorts nicest restaurants. The meal was fantastic. We both ate entirely too much so Pate decided that we should go for a walk around the hotels gardens that overlooked the sea. When we got to the end of the pier there was another couple that was taking pictures. They asked if we wouldn't mind taking their photo. Pate said, "Of course as long as you don't mind taking ours". They took one photo and we liked it. Pate asked for them to take one more. In that moment he got down on one knee and proposed. I was full of emotions. The fact that these random people were able to take so many photos and truly capture the moment was such a blessing. After I said yes, we went and had martini's with the couple and watched the fireworks that were in the distance. It was absolutely meant to be!
