Our Story

Our story starts in Winooski, Vermont, where Emily was living with her friends and a new roommate, Robbie, who was good friends with Pat. One night, Robbie introduced Emily and Pat in the kitchen of 9 George St. There was a brief but immediate connection as Emily was on her way out. Upon her return a few hours later, Pat’s truck was still in the driveway, and his shoes were dangling out of the camper cap. It was enough to spark another conversation, and an early tell that they both had adventure on the mind. Pat soon became a fixture at 9 George, as this was a crash pad for watching old snowboard videos, and a launch pad for fall adventure. The group spent every weekend over the next few months caravanning through the forest roads of Vermont, camping in open fields under the stars, building creekside fires on shaded pullouts, and sampling all the skateparks and swimming holes the Green Mountain State had to offer. Emily and Pat said they were still just friends, but they were not fooling anyone. There was a mutual admiration that was painfully obvious, as documented by the photos they took of one another. They were becoming an item, and started spending time together alone. Pat invited Emily over for dinner as their “first date” in an attempt to woo her with green curry. Soon after, they took a road trip to Killington for pre-season snowboarding, and they set up camp afterwards in the woods, feeling right at home. Spending week after week together deepening their relationship, it became clear that this was the start of their love story. This opened up the door to what felt like infinite possibility, and after dating for only 8 months, they drove across the country to see what life might look like in Bend, Oregon, a place neither of them had ever set foot. … As it turns out, life in Bend is pretty sweet. If you’ve visited us, you know why we’ve been here for 5 years. With mountains in our backyard, a new ocean to explore, and a tight-knit community, our hearts feel full. As foreshadowed by the night we met, we can still be found setting up camp in the back of our truck on any given weekend. It only felt right to host our wedding where our journey took root. We would be honored for you to join us in celebrating our marriage!
