The first time Pat and Calie met was when he sent her an email at work and forgot to include the attachments. Calie decided to forgive that rookie mistake because she thought he was super cute. After a year and a half of friendship, and a lot of patience on the part of Calie, they decided to start dating. The next four years were full of Nats and Caps games, trips to the lake, hikes, visits to local breweries and wineries, and nights on the couch watching their favorite shows.

One typical Friday night, Calie went over to Pat's condo expecting to find him playing Halo on the couch. Instead there were candles and flowers on the table and Pat still in his work clothes holding something behind his back. Spoiler alert: it was a ring. Pat said some really sweet things that Calie didn't hear because she was nervous laughing like an idiot, but she got the gist of what he was getting at so she yelled "Yes!" before Pat even got the chance to ask.
