The first time I laid eyes on Amy was 2.22.14 (better known as 222 fest). Amy was running around head to toe in a penguin costume. While I didn’t know who this girl was at the time, I had a strange feeling that we would cross paths at some point in my four (and a half) years at The University of Dayton. Luckily for me, I ended up running into Amy a lot through our numerous mutual Chicago friends at UD and we quickly began to share a connection. As it turns out, Amy was exactly who I thought she was when I first saw her in that penguin costume: a fun, loving, energetic girl who is not afraid to be herself. That was the girl I was looking for and that was the girl who I found and who I love so much. I think back on how lucky I was to meet the love of my life so early on in my life. What I loved about Amy then is what I still love about Amy now. She loves with all of her heart, her loyalty to her family and friends is shown without question and she is truly the most beautiful girl I know inside and out. I love that she helps me to be the most positive person I can be, she encourages me to think with my heart and helps me to see the good in everyone. She is also the only person on this earth who can match my silliness, and I love her for that. Amy, you have made me a better person from the day we met and all of the good in my life is because of you. My love for you will forever be unconditional and eternal and I am so eager to continue our story together.
From the moment I first saw Pat, I thought “woah”- I mean, have you seen how handsome this guy is? But when I got to know the person he is inside is when I truly fell in love with the man he is. Anyone who knows Pat knows how kind he is to everyone he meets and how much his affinity for fun shines out his every pore. He is caring, confident, funny, and fiercely loyal. I love that he dreams big and works hard. He is open and honest with me and genuinely respects my (many) opinions. He reminds me to laugh through life’s little pests when I am taking life a little too seriously. Most importantly, he always reminds me to be myself and consistently makes me a better person. One day, I turned to Pat and said, “you know, relationships don’t always feel this easy”. Loving Pat feels effortless because of the undying trust we have for each other, our deep connection, and because, above all else, we value our friendship. After an incredible college experience (Go Flyers!!), summer internships, 2 graduations, Pat’s big move to Chicago, our first jobs, our first apartments, lots of happy moments, and some sad moments; how fortunate are we to have been able to grow up by each other’s sides during such formative years of our lives. This makes me very confident that we are the perfect partners to continue growing together in life. I can’t wait to marry you, Patrick Cvengros!
