It's finally happening!

We met back in high school; Patrick was 16 and I was 15. Patrick played guitar in a band. My best friend was dating the bassist and told me about this "really hot guy" named Pat that she wanted me to meet. One day, she brought me with her to their band practice. I sat on his amp thinking he was so dreamy :) as he and his band played the song "Bloody Romance" by Senses Fail. We started to hangout a lot but initially I was not ready to have a boyfriend. I left him hanging for a while but 8 months later I finally agreed to be his girlfriend. Throughout the years we both changed a lot, including me finding my faith in Jesus and becoming a Christian. As I grew in my faith the concept of having a marriage centered on God became very important to me. I knew building a life on God's word would result in such a strong and unified marriage. I really wanted that for Patrick and I. At the time, we were on very different pages regarding the idea. Our difference in beliefs became a strong source of tension in our relationship as it prevented us from moving forward as a couple. As years went by Patrick started to grow bitter towards Christianity. I prayed and prayed. After many years of no change in our circumstances it was very difficult to remain hopeful. But God was working! Little by little Patrick's heart started to change. He begun to look at things differently. Eventually, he let his walls down and was brought to a place where he genuinely wanted to believe. After six years of praying for Patrick, many prayers were answered! On September 8th, 2017, Patrick placed his faith in Jesus! Our relationship has since been transformed. Although it was SO hard to remain patient during those times, God blessed our efforts and has made us stronger than ever. We learned the value of waiting on God's timing and trusting in His plan. Looking back it was definitely worth it! Our goal is to honor God in our marriage and lives as we start our future together!
