Our Wedding Plan

Our family and friends are literally spread across the country and the world - and we're still, unfortunately, facing challenges with COVID-19. So after considering a bunch of options for getting married we have decided to plan several smaller gatherings with family in different places. The sudden loss of Erica’s grandfather reminded us that life is short, and that family is important. So—we are gathering soon, and celebrating often! For now, just with family. We are incredibly lucky to have each of our parents involved in hosting events from April through June, in various spots in Virginia, Massachusetts, and Mississippi. We will send invitations to each event separately.

Virginia Engagement Celebration with the Huffman family

1:00 pm

Eggleston, VA

April 9: Eggleston, Virginia. Hosted by Erica’s mother, Lynn, and cousin, Courtney Scherer. As a special treat, Erica’s Ahna and Uppa will be joining from their home in Nome, Alaska. We are honored that Uppa has agreed to say the prayer and a few words on their behalf. Thank you also to the Scherer's for opening their lovely home in the Appalachian mountains. The Huffman family is from southwest VA, and Erica went to school here at Virginia Tech. We're excited to be back.

Legal Ceremony

3:00 pm

April 22: Boston, Massachusetts. Legal ceremony at the Boston City Hall. They will be joined by Patrick and Erica’s parents, Patrick’s siblings, and Erica’s friend Liz, a professional photographer. (Thank you, Liz!) Erica and Patrick met in Boston, and Patrick's family is from Boston—so it's an obvious choice for the ceremony. Patrick's parents graciously have offered to host a dinner afterwards to celebrate.
