Marissa & Nick’s Story

Who knows Marissa & Nick’s true story? Sometimes, they aren’t sure if they can remember it all! M&N met in 6th grade and it was love at first sight, as all 11 year old relationships go. They dated for 3 days before Nick moved off to Massachusetts. As their long distance romance continued, Nick moved back to Middletown (or so Marissa thought) for 7th grade. The two were finally back together; glancing at each other from afar and giving quick awkward hugs goodbye, all was right in the world. It was a wonderful 8 months, but it seemed that all good things had to come to an end. Flash forward 5 years, and Marissa & Nick barely ever crossed paths. To the extent of not even remembering seeing each other during their high school years. It wasn’t until the last few months of their senior year that they started becoming friends again. Neither Marissa or Nick had any intention of falling for each other, in fact, they helped each other in other relationships at the time. But, it was inevitable, the more they were together, the less they wanted to be apart. Until college that is. What a confusing time you want a piece of home, but you also want to explore who you are without it. No one could keep up with where Marissa and Nick were, because they couldn’t. The one constant was, they always came back to each other. So finally, their senior year of college they decided, it’s time to truly give this a shot. Then Nick got drafted and left CT for the summer. Nick’s baseball career was the most exciting and challenging aspects of their relationship. Nick was gone for up to 8 months out of the year and Marissa would travel to see him as much as possible. After 5 seasons, Nick retired and it was off to the next career. Each time Nick left and came home, it was a huge adjustment for both of them. Throughout it all, their love persevered. They both knew at the end of the day who they wanted to come home to.
