You may think our story began the day we first officially met in person, but in truth Matthew and I go way back... like almost 20 years. You could say that's where both of our love for baseball, more specifically the Phillies, began when we both played in the Cressona summer t-ball league. (see photo below). Sadly, I was a couple of houses away from going to the same school district as Matthew, so our paths really didn't cross again. Fast forward to 2018: I (Sofia) had just started my first semester at LVC, and decided to visit some friends at Kutztown University the weekend before Thanksgiving. While there, my long time friend from Girl Scouts, Kali, mentioned her friend Matt Mabry from back home. The name sounded vaguely familiar, so I said why not, and gave Kali the go-ahead to give him my contact info. He ended up messaging me two days later and we talked the whole week. The first big step happened when Matt asked me to be his plus one to a Friendsgiving that following Saturday, where we officially met (even though Matt was too nervous to sit next to me at the dining table). And as they say, the rest is history. I am a big believer in the philosophy that everything happens for a reason. And while we may have crossed paths before in our lives, even forging our paths so close to each other that we both had a long time mutual friend, God meant for us to meet that day six and a half years ago and we both could not be more grateful for the adventures and memories we've made, and for the many more to come.
