In July of 2022, Colleen asked if I wanted to join her performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, directed by Jenny Hoffman, my high school director. It had been so long since I'd been onstage, but the rehearsals and performance were just a few blocks from my house, so I agreed. A few weeks into rehearsal, the women in the cast were each paired up with a "brother" and Jenny paired me up with Matt! I was just trying to play it cool, trying not to be a weirdo! Within a week, Matt reached out and we started chatting. Two weeks later, the night of our final dress rehearsal, he asked me out! We had our first kiss at the cast party the following night, and our first date the following week. I felt such a strong connection right away, and I knew this was the real deal before we even went on the date. I'm so excited now to be getting married to the love of my life, and spending the rest of my life singing, dancing, and loving life.
My dear friend Jenny Hoffman put together a reunion concert performance of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Waterford, WI, which I had done under her direction in 2019, so I was reprising my role of Simeon. She informed me that she would be pairing my up with Becky Paruszkiewicz, whom she was pretty sure was single. After a coupe of nudges to talk to her from Jenny, I finally broke the ice and messaged Becky, and we talked every day for a couple of weeks. I asked her out, and we had our first kiss at the cast party. I felt the warmest, most powerful feeling. I instantly knew that this was different and special. I saw this coming very early on. I envisioned our lives together, our love growing, and getting old and taking care of each other, I felt it in my soul that through her beauty, kindness, nurturing spirit, and total dedication to everything to not only me, but everything she does in life, that Becky was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
