From Varkala to Varmala!

It wasn’t love at first sight. It was love at first bite. We met in Varkala. A dog bit Satish. I offered him a ride to the hospital and unsolicited advice to avoid straws to drink a tender coconut. Guilty! One rabies shot and a (conveniently 😋) missed train later, we decided to stick around. I’m hyper-active and borderline obsessive about organisation, symmetry and cleanliness. He’s a lazy introvert who believes every surface, except the wardrobe, is, in fact, a wardrobe! I’m the book nerd. He’s a professional IG doom-scroller. He brings patience for two; I bring the bossing around and serve my opinions, unfiltered. If “poles apart” needed a personification, we would be the perfect fit. And yet, food, travel, nature, hosting friends, our dream home, ambitious retirement plans, and my love for dogs keep us perfectly aligned. Our favourite pastime? OD'ing on junk food, binge-watching a series, and turning into full-time potatoes for an entire weekend. One of our favourite memories is riding endlessly through the Hampi ruins, its volcanic landscapes, ancient stones, and not another human in sight for miles. Just us, and a lot of dust.
