Kolton & I first met while working together at Spanky's Restaurant in Lubbock, TX. (Fried cheese, please!) I specifically remember the moment I saw Kolton for the first time. The girl working downstairs was in the middle of showing Kolton around when he had just been hired, it was right after a lunch rush and things were finally starting to slow down. I was in a hurry and was running downstairs and almost bumped right into him, and the girl working yelled at me for it a bit. That's when he looked over and said jokingly, "she's the boss", and I responded (with lots of sass of course) "no, I'm the boss", and I remember seeing his huge grin. I ran right back upstairs and couldn't get that grin out of my head. Flash forward to two nights later and we happened to be working together. We were given a list of things to get done, which included wiping down the tables and chairs and cleaning the baseboards. Of course, I took the liberty of taking the easy task and I made the new guy get down on the floor to clean all of the baseboards. The rest is history! (Side note, he hasn't cleaned any baseboards since.)
The night we first worked together everything really seemed to click when we found out we had one major common interest: golf. I played in high school, and he enjoyed playing a lot in his free time. We even played golf with his dad the very first time that he took me to Canyon and I met his family, and we have played together a lot ever since. It only made sense to propose on the golf course since that is something we both enjoy. While playing with his dad and uncle on November 24th, 2018, he proposed on a hole that had beautiful scenery and of course I said yes!
