September 17, 2016 - It’s Saturday in Athens! After a few tailgates, I decided to attend one last tailgate before calling it a night - 1st best decision I’ve ever made. Matthew was persistent I try a Kona Wave (his favorite beer at the time) -- I gave in- 2nd best decision I've ever made. A few beers later and a few hours of talking, we realized we both knew a lot of the same people and had so much in common. One month and a few dates later, Matthew invited me to go to Helen for the GA/FL game. That same weekend he asked me to be his girlfriend. We were riding trails in the mountains, cruising in his jeep and the song "Die A Happy Man" by Thomas Rhett came on - Matthew reached for my hand & told me that at that same moment in time he could die a happy man. Normally, I would think "wow that's kind of corny" but at that moment, I felt the same. That’s when we shared a look - a look I will never forget - that look that made me feel like I found a home for my heart. Flash forward 3 years later -the morning of March 9, 2020, Matthew & I decided to spend 30 years together while purchasing our first house — that evening... I agreed to spend the rest of my life with him— hands down the best decision I have ever made! We've built such a beautiful life together-A beautiful life that we've been so blessed to share with our closest friends and family. And so the real adventure begins - leave the kids at home, wear your dancing shoes and come #PartyWithThePilchers. We cant wait to share with you the beginning of the next chapter of our lives together ❤️
