Nate came down to Texas to work at Texas A&M Soccer summer camps where Grace had been working during the summer since she was a player there. While they never met at the actual camp, it is camp coach tradition to attend Monday Karaoke night at The Tap in College Station. While listening to horrible singing, Nate strategically took the seat next to Grace when someone got up and immediately struck up conversation by offering her a tequila shot. She offered to split it, and the rest of the night was history. The two talked for hours, sang their hearts out, and bonded over their love for soccer!

At the beginning of 2023 Nate began to plan the big day. He gathered some help from his mom, Amanda, Grace's sister, Sarah, and even tricked Grace into helping to plan her own special day. Amanda requested "Spring Pictures" from all couples in the family which is where Grace's planning prowess began. It was bluebonnet season in Texas, and the perfect excuse for a couples photo shoot revealed itself. March 24, 2023 was an important day for many reasons. Grace received her white coat in Veterinary School signifying the transition into the clinical year and the last year of school ever! It was the perfect day filled with family and friends and the perfect distraction to get everyone together and dressed up for a proposal. After the ceremony, Nate, Grace, and Sarah (our amazing photographer) headed out in search of bluebonnets. When they found an abundant bluebonnet field, the pictures ensued. After finding the perfect lighting Nate got down on one knee and was met with laughter, tears, and an absolute yes!
