While Masha and David have known of each other through mutual friends for several years, they officially met at their good friends' wedding in Cancun, Mexico in 2018. Masha instantly noticed David; he was the life of the party. During the vacation, Masha taught David to play a Russian card game called Durak and that’s how the two became friends. However, timing didn't line up the first time they met and their relationship remained platonic. Six months later Masha and David were having a friendly chat when David sent Masha a picture of his dog, Remy and of course, Masha asked to meet the pup! A few days later, on April 20, 2019, they went on their first date and Remy tagged along. Masha thought David was too good to be true but turns out, she was wrong! Shortly after their first date, Masha and David introduced each other to their friends and family and they both fit right in. The relationship was effortless from the very start and Masha, David, and Remy have been inseparable since day one. Things were going so well that David asked Masha to move in with him just six months into the relationship. In the first year of dating, Masha and David hiked in Colorado, explored beautiful Italy, and relaxed on the beaches of Dominican Republic. They quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic and navigated through life's obstacles seamlessly. Shortly after their one year anniversary, Masha and David bought a home and David decided that if they can make it though the pandemic and remodeling a house together, they can make it through anything. David proposed to Masha on their first night in their new home on August 21, 2020. Masha screamed and jumped around for a while, and of course, said YES!
