Megan was friends with Keri, Jared’s sister, since the summer they graduated high school. Keri introduced Megan to Jared, as well as the rest of the Stippert family, soon after at a party. Megan became close with the whole family, and they were very supportive of Megan when she was pregnant with her daughter, Charlotte a few years later. They were so supportive in fact that when Megan brought 2 week old Charlotte to their home for a proper introduction, Jared actually “took” the baby, and held her for at least an hour, and wouldn’t let anyone else have their turn! Fast forward through the years, Megan, Charlotte and the whole Stippert family remained close, with their house becoming a regular hang out spot for the Carroll girls. One night in the summer of 2016, a bunch of friends went to St. Pete for a birthday celebration, Megan and Jared shared a dance at a Country line dancing bar, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Megan and Jared had been talking about marriage for a long time, they knew that they wanted to get married eventually, but were not in a rush. They have a very fun, lighthearted relationship where pranks and jokes happen often. So when Jared dropped down to one knee on the side of the road outside UFs The Swamp and said “Megan... ... .... will you..... GO TO THE GARTH BROOKS CONCERT WITH ME?!” She thought it was hilarious, as did their friends, and Jared went on, often dropping dramatically to his knee, just so he could tie his shoe, or pick up something off of the ground. Then comes the Coronavirus quarantine. A time when most couples either make it or break it. Jared decides randomly one day, that this is the day he is finally going to bite the bullet. He looks up and learns the poem from The Lord of the Rings, and gets down on one knee in the living room of their tiny apartment. As he begins to recite the poem, Megan thinking he is pulling a prank, starts laughing. Then the doorbell rings, perfect timing. Megans mom has brought Charlotte home from her house. Megan tells Jared “ok, jokes aside, Ive got to get the door!” And moves past him, leaving him on one knee in the living room holding out her grandmothers wedding ring like its a toy. Mama Carroll and Charlotte are both looking from Jared to Megan like “IS IT FINALLY HAPPENING?!?” And Megan is oblivious at this point. Mama quickly skidaddles out of there, and Megan and Charlotte take their place on the couch, Charlotte looking from Megan to Jared and back again, and Megan not realizing a thing. Jared again, takes a knee, and starts reciting the poem. This time Megan looks at him and asks M: “are you being for real...?” J: “yes” M: “forreal, forreal?!” J: “yes!” M: **sobbing** “you’re not joking? Like this is real?!” Megan quickly accepts, and Charlotte is screaming about how happy she is! “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them”
