Summer of 2019 - The seed was planted by mutual friends and Parth and Deeksha had heard about one another! Months passed with neither of them making the first move, until finally, one October day ... they matched on Hinge! Deeksha was living in Jersey City and Parth in Brooklyn, so the two had to make countless traffic-filled journeys across one city and two rivers throughout the pandemic (equipped with gloves and double masks) to see each other! Nonetheless, like many (successful) pandemic couples, their relationship accelerated quickly and they discovered a mutual love for travel, food/wine, and the outdoors. A few long road trips, outdoor dinner dates, thrilling hikes, and many facetimes later, they knew this was it! The rest is still being written!

Parth somehow convinced Deeksha to take a half day on a Friday (not an easy feat, if you know Deeksha well!) so they could get dinner at their favorite Dumbo restaurant, Cecconi's prior to their "friend's mom's retirement party", or so she was told. After dinner, Parth led Deeksha across the pier to Jane's Carousel where he got down on one knee and she screamed "YES" before he could even ask! Their friends and family were eagerly waiting in Greenpoint to celebrate with the best surprise party Deeksha could have imagined! (to set the scene - the bar counter was lit on fire several times)!
