Here's what you can expect during the Shashti Abda Poorthi ((Sanskrit meaning: Sashti = 60, Abda = years, Poorthi = completion) celebrations - is a celebration of life, wisdom, and the blessings that come with reaching this significant milestone. It is a reminder of the importance of cherishing relationships, fulfilling responsibilities, and embracing the journey of life with gratitude and joy. It is also a time to renew one's vows to their beloved partner! So the first part of the day (7 am to 11:30 am) will typically involve various rituals and customs, such as seeking blessings from elders and performing religious ceremonies. This is when you all come in - at Noon! We will begin the renewal of marriage vows and you will get a sneak peek into the rich traditions of a Hindu wedding. At 2pm - you will enjoy a grand feast that we have arranged for our dear family and friends. 3pm - Reception to celebrate the birthday boy and the couple with more food, music and dance with DJ BIGNC!

Religious Ceremony

This is the religious part of the event and typically family members participate in it.

There will be light breakfast served with tea and coffee for those attending the religious event

Shasti Abda Poorthi - Wedding Vows Renewal

12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple

You will experience a glimpse of the rich Hindu traditions and culture during the renewal of the wedding vows. This is typically organized by the children who would like to see their parents get married (again) as they missed it the first time around!

Lunch will be served at 2pm and reception will follow immediately after this
