How to Get There

The closest airport to Castiglioncello is Pisa. Pisa airport has regular flights from most of the European cities. The main airport in Tuscany where you can have flights from/to US is Florence. Florence airport is at about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car from Castiglioncello and you can decide to take a taxi or a private car with driver or a rented car to reach Villa Parisi and all the accommodation in the city. If you arrive from other cities in Italy (for example from Rome, Milan or Bologna, you can consider to take also the high speed train to Florence or to Pisa and from there the regional train to Castiglioncello. The city centre is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Alternatively, the town is reachable by car from any direction, and the drive is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Florence. If you prefer to reach Castiglioncello by car from the airports, you can take a taxi or Uber directly outside airport. We kindly suggest you to book in advance your transfer back from Castiglioncello to the airport as the taxis/Uber in the area are limited. If you prefer to rent a car, in both airports there are major rental companies such as Avis, Hertz, Locauto, drive to Castiglioncello is quite easy as most of the travel is on the local highway. In the city the car parking are limited but most of the hotels have an internal car parking and all the main points of the city are within walking distance. If you decide to rent a car, it is recommended to get an international driver’s permit. This can be obtained through AAA.
