Still recovering from back surgery, I walked in to 10 Barrel with orange pillow in hand. Jeff had denied my offer for us to both wear name tags so I had a 50/50 chance of choosing the right single gentleman in blue. Luckily, I chose correctly. I quickly realized there was something different about this last first date. Our connection was unique, the conversation was easy, and Jeff demonstrated his faith in God right off the bat. What Jeff didn't know was that prior to our first date I had been praying to know (right away) whether or not he loved God and was the right person for me. Just hours before our date, while on a walk, Romans 8:28 kept popping up in my mind. As Jeff asked to pray for our meal and casually worked in how "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him" to our conversation, I realized that (both) our prayers had been answered. We had been brought together with purpose, for a purpose! The date progressed from 10 Barrel to Press N Pony (naturally) for some craft cocktails. We ventured down the elevator to Space Bar for some Miss Pac-Man and pinball and finally ended up on the Bittercreek patio, where we continued talking until we could barely keep our eyes open. Little did we know, this would be just the first of many long evenings filled with deep, meaningful conversation and plenty of laughter. :)
