Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park
Paterson Great Falls is down the block from The Art Factory in the heart of the Historic District of Paterson. One of the United States' largest waterfalls, it played a significant role in the early industrial development of New Jersey. The 0.6 mile Stoney Ridge Trail links Great Falls and The Art Factory!
Garret Mountain Reservation
A scenic park with walking trails, grass fields, picnic areas, Barbour's Pond, Lambert Tower, and an Equestrian Center.
Meadowlands Environmental Center
A wetlands park in the Meadowlands with walking trails, including one that goes through the marshes, and beautiful views of the NYC skyline. The Meadowlands contain many species of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks and is considered to be an important bird habitat.
American Dream
American Dream became a staple for us during the cold COVID winters. It is enormous and features a water park, amusement park, mini golf, an aquarium, and lots of shopping and food.
Lincoln Park
Located in the heart of town, Lincoln Park is our favorite park in Rutherford. It's right across the street from Top That! Donuts.
Top That! Donuts
Our favorite place for fresh made donuts! Adrianne's favorites are The Point Beach and Death By Chocolate; John's favorite is the Springsteen.
Suprema
Our favorite spot for amazing sandwiches! Adrianne's favorite is the Napoli and John's favorite is the Fiorentina. Also, check out their dinner menu for a delicious sit-down experience.
Matera's On Park
An incredible authentic Italian market, restaurant, and deli right in downtown Rutherford.
Mario's
Our favorite pizza place! The buffalo shrimp are especially delicious.
Bronx Zoo
Featured on the show "The Zoo", The Bronx Zoo is one of our favorite places to go. Our favorite exhibit is Jungle World. There is also a Treetop Adventure Ropes Course across the street from the zoo entrance.
New York Aquarium & Coney Island Boardwalk
We love the Coney Island Aquarium! Adrianne's favorite is the floor to ceiling shark exhibit. John's is the sea lion show. The aquarium is located on the Coney Island Boardwalk which boasts the original Nathan's Famous hot dogs, Coney Island Freak Bar, and Lola Star beach shop. The Cyclone roller coaster is a must ride historical landmark.
Central Park Zoo
Located right in the heart of Manhattan, the Central Park Zoo is a great excuse to head into the city for the day. The zoo is charming and quaint. Public transportation from Rutherford is simple and easy.
