GETTING HERE: -The closest airport to the wedding is Manchester (MAN). -The wedding venue is in Rivington but the closest town is Horwich -Best deals on flights are usually from Toronto (YYZ) to Manchester (MAN). -Keep in mind when you are searching websites, the currency could be Canadian dollars (CAD), Euros (EUR) or British Pounds (GBP) - just google currency convert.er -Parking is easy and inexpensive in Toronto: Skypark, Park n' Fly, Many hotels in the area with free shuttles and if you sign up, they always have coupons. If you don't have a coupon for Skypark, let us know and we may have one -Flying into London could be cheaper if you plan to visit while you are here. You can take a train (3hrs) or drive up (4hrs) -We encourage you to take advantage of this trip for yourself too, go explore other areas, there's so much to see and do! -We suggest you download the app Whatsapp ahead of time, which allows free communication all over the world and is easy to use BOOKING FLIGHTS: -Please do your research. I suggest starting about 6-7 months prior, look at prices on all the airlines and keep checking every couple weeks so you get a feel for a high or low price. -Usually best time to book is roughly 3-6 months prior -Usually it's best to book directly with airline but not always PLACES TO STAY: -See below for some options close to the wedding venue. -Other options are: B&B's, AIRBNB, VRBO, and booking.com (or other discount companies) OTHER TIPS: -Most flights are cold, so be prepared. -Most international flights do have individual TV's and have headphones for sale or free -You will be provided a meal and snack for all international flights -If needed, free wheelchair assistance is available from checkin to gate (and gate to gate for each connecting flight) - take advantage of this -There are international health insurance companies if needed just in case, check AARP Any questions, feel free to contact Parker's mom on Whatsapp at +1 989 321 1949

UK Specific Info

Some tips and info while in UK -for non emergent issue, call 111 on your phone -for emergency, call 999 on your phone -for calling, the country code is +44 (the US is +1) -We drive on the left hand side (not the right) -Parking spaces, driving lanes and cars are usually smaller here -There are lots of round-abouts so brush up on how to use them

Air Transat (non-stop to MAN)

Air Transat (owned by Air Canada) has non-stop flights from Toronto (YYZ) to Manchester (MAN). This is a good option when you want to have no connections and the prices are usually lower than others.

Aer Lingus

This is an Irish airline and the airport is very easy to navigate. This is a great option to use if you want to visit Ireland before hand. You can fly into non-stop from Toronto to Dublin, then take a cheap airline to Manchester a few days later. Common cheap airlines are EasyJet, Jet2, Ryanair

Delta/KLM/Air France

Delta (or their partner airlines KLM, Air France) is a good option when flying from Detroit or MBS (even sometimes Toronto). I would suggest looking at each separate partner airline because they have different prices.

Air Canada has flights from Toronto (YYZ) to Manchester (MAN). They aren't always the best price now that they bought out their previous competition (Air Transat).

If you plan to not fly into Manchester (MAN) (instead Dublin, London, Glascow, etc.) here are a few cheap airlines to use to get to MAN: Ryanair, Aer Lingus, EasyJet, Thomas Cook, Jet2

Sky Park Car Toronto

This is the place we use for car parking in Toronto. They shuttle you to the airport, very easy and cheap. Go to their website and find a coupon code and make sure to have it with you when you arrive at the car park for the discount.

Train Line

Take the train from the airport to Horwich Parkway train station. This is very easy and inexpensive. Use the Trainline or Northern app or online to purchase train tickets. You can either do this right before or you could get an 'open ticket'. Booking ahead of time with an open ticket (use the earliest time you could possibly board the train and it's good all day)

Transportation Tips

Trains: -Northern app (Manchester area) or Trainline app (all over UK) are best for booking tickets -We have a great public transportation system UBER/Taxi: -Uber is usually more expensive -For Taxi, we use a company called Triple Zero +44 1204 365000 Car Rental: you have 2 options OPTION 1: Rent a car right at the airport. Sometimes once you book your plane ticket, you will get emails with discounts. OPTION 2: Pick up your rental car in Horwich (or wherever you are staying). Which ever you choose, I would suggest going for a decently rated car rental company.

This hotel is near the Horwich train station (which is a straight shot from the MAN airport) and middlebrook - walking distance to both. Premier Inn tends to have low prices.
