Parks and Elizabeth met in Nashville, Tennessee in late June of 2019. They were each there with friends, and were both at Whiskey Row rooftop bar. Parks remembers seeing Elizabeth in a black and white checkered dress across the bar and thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. He then proceeded to tell his friends he really felt like he needed to try and talk to her because he felt so drawn to her. After he introduced himself, Elizabeth took to him naturally. They talked for an hour or two until his friends made him leave but plans had already been made for the two groups to meet back up later that night. They all met up as planned that night at Luke Bryan's bar and their relationship started up right then, like a great country love song.
Elizabeth was planning to spend Christmas with her family, their first Christmas without her beloved Nana. Parks mentioned he was wanting to come out and see her family too so they booked him a flight the day after Christmas. Elizabeth's mom Lisa had been talking about taking a mini trip up to Lake Arrowhead the weekend after Christmas to stay at the Lake Arrowhead Resort. Lake Arrowhead holds many fond childhood memories for Elizabeth and her family so of course she was looking forward to showing Parks. They picked Parks up from the airport and headed straight for the mountains. After exploring Santas Village, they decided the next night they would go to the hotel restaurant for a family dinner. Elizabeth's sister Brittany told her she wanted to take pictures out by the lake before dinner so they all started getting ready and headed out right before sunset. As they walked around the lakefront, Brittany was looking for the perfect place to take pictures, she suggested they go up the stairs to the lookout point. As they approached the top of the stairs, there were flower pedals and candles down an aisle to a heart in the spot overlooking the lake. Elizabeth seemed confused at first, even asked Parks what was going on, but then she knew and started crying before they even made it to the heart. Just as the sun was setting over the lake, Parks got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to marry him and of course, she kind of yelled YES! They celebrated with her family over an intimate dinner in the presidential suite which Brittany and Lisa beautifully decorated. It started snowing that night and the next morning they woke up to a foot of snow, happy engaged. It was just like a dream.
