On Our Way To Our Happily Ever After

Zach and Lisa met in high school during one of the many high school “parties” Lisa attended her senior year. Now these weren’t normal parties. It was usually about 10-12 friends hanging out together at someone’s house playing board games or pool. Zach was already graduated, but his best friend at the time was one of Lisa’s best friends at the time they met. Lisa actually started dating Zach’s best friend a couple months after they met and they ended up hanging out all the time because of it. Zach and Yusef (the bf and best friend) would come watch Lisa bowl on Saturdays. Zach would get off work at Sam’s club at 5am and wake Yusef and Lisa up so we could get breakfast before Lisa went to bowl. Then they would all hang out afterwards. They’d go to the beach or to the movies or hang out at the mall. They even went over to Lisa’s place a few times to watch movies. It was the start of a great friendship. After Lisa and Yusef broke up, Zach and Lisa continued to be friends. They became very close and hung out all the time until Zach went off to Navy Bootcamp and they lost touch for a while. When he was on his way to his first station, he contacted her again and asked her to come with him. She said no. They maintained contact for a little while after that but it wasn’t long before they lost each other again. Fast forward four years and they got back into contact again after Zach reached out to see how she was after surviving a Cat 5 hurricane in their hometown. This time they never lost touch. Zach moved back home to Panama City shortly after they connected again and the spark they always shared but never acted on grew. They saw each other all the time at Planet Fitness and would go on little lunch dates here and there. Then Covid hit and Panama City shut down. They saw each other when they could but lock down made things difficult. Once the city opened up again they were back to hanging out all the time until Zach found a job in Colorado. He moved across the country and they officially started dating in October of 2020. They spent their first 10 months apart, flying back and forth between Florida and Colorado. In August of 2021 they moved in together in a small apartment in Jacksonville. Two years later, on their first cruise together to the Bahamas, he got down on one knee and proposed to Lisa. She couldn’t believe it. She was so surprised by the proposal that she called him a brat after accepting. Now they are planning their happily ever after.
