The Coggins

We like to say our love story began on the sideline—quite literally. We both work in the University of Georgia athletic department, crossing paths occasionally without ever officially meeting. Rebekah was always on the move with Compliance with football, while Will poured his heart into the Bulldogs’ baseball program as Assistant Head Coach. Then came one fall afternoon at a home football game. In the middle of the usual game-day chaos, Will noticed Rebekah on the sideline. Something about her caught his attention—and it stuck. He didn’t know her name, but he knew he wanted to. So he asked around the office: Who is she? A few months later, Rebekah was walking back to the office near the baseball facility when Will spotted her and didn’t risk missing the opportunity to strike up a conversation. He walked with her trying to learn as much about her as he could in that short amount of time, including if she was single. Before they parted, he asked for her number- followed quickly by an invitation to dinner. That first dinner turned into many more, each one confirming what our hearts already knew: that something special had started that day during the walk on campus. He felt it was only right to propose in that same spot where it all began. And now, all these steps later, we’re walking into forever—together!
