For Kaitlyn and Robert, some of their best days have been spent on the water with fishing poles in hand. In fact, their very first date was a fishing trip. When Robert saw that Kaitlyn could bait and de-fish her own hook, he knew she was someone special. From that day forward, they spent more and more time fishing together, and when they weren’t on the water, they were listening to podcasts or enjoying time with family. It didn’t take long before they became inseparable. When Robert left for Basic Training, the distance only made their bond stronger. During those first few months apart, they both realized they wanted to do life together. Kaitlyn took a leap of faith and wrote Robert a letter, asking if he would “check yes or no,” just like in the George Strait song. His reply came quickly: “Did you really think I would check no?” From that moment on, their hearts have been set on forever—and now, they’re saying I do!
