How we met

Five years ago, in Howell, Michigan a simple introduction turned into something neither of us could have predicted. As the days went by, we found ourselves spending more and more time together. What started as a friendship quickly deepened. We were both surprised by how easily we slipped into each other’s lives—how natural it felt to be together. There was something so real about it, no pretenses, no games. It just fit. We didn’t need time to figure it out—we knew, almost instantly, that this was different. In just a few weeks, we were inseparable. Every moment we spent apart felt like a lifetime, and every moment together felt like home. We talked about everything, laughed about everything, and slowly began to share dreams we’d never dared to say out loud. It didn’t take long for us to realize: we had fallen in love, fast and with a certainty that neither of us had ever experienced before. It happened quickly but it didn’t feel rushed—it felt right. Every step, every glance, every touch only made us want more of each other, and five years later, we’re still that same pair who met by chance, but who fell for each other on purpose. I’m grateful for how quickly it happened, because I think sometimes, the best love stories aren’t the ones that take time to unfold. They’re the ones where you just know—and you’re both brave enough to follow it.

The proposal

That weekend on Mackinac Island felt like a dream from the moment we arrived. The air was crisp, the views breathtaking, and every corner seemed to hold a promise of something magical. But nothing compared to the moment you led me down to the beach at sunset, where the soft glow of candles flickered along the shoreline, and rose petals scattered across the sand. As the waves gently kissed the shore, you took my hand and dropped to one knee, your words soft but certain. In that moment, surrounded by nothing but the beauty of the island, I knew that this was the start of forever. Every detail, every moment, was perfect, and I could hardly believe I was about to say yes to the rest of my life with you.

Funny Memories

We went camping, and it was supposed to be a peaceful night under the stars. But there I was, wide awake in the tent, tossing and turning, trying to get some sleep. That’s when I looked over and saw one spider. No big deal, right? But then—bam—I swear, it was like some kind of spider convention. Suddenly, there were a million of them, crawling all over the walls of the tent, and I started panicking. I woke Parker up frantically, and he was not having it at first. He was groggy, a little cranky, and definitely not in the mood for spider warfare. But then, he saw the army of spiders and his mood shifted in an instant. The man turned into an action hero, grabbing anything he could find and started launching a full-on attack. It was like a real-life horror movie, except Parker was the only one doing the fighting while I was hiding under a blanket. In the end, he declared victory (mostly) but I’m pretty sure we both spent the rest of the night with one eye open. I’ll never forget the time we stayed at a hotel for my birthday, and Parker tried to surprise me with an ice cream cake. The whole thing was so sweet, but his method of "storing" the cake? Not so sweet. He didn’t know how to keep it frozen since there was no freezer. So, he filled the sink with ice, stuck the cake in there, and called it a day. Fast forward a few hours, and when he went to grab the cake, he opened the bathroom door with the biggest grin—only to find a pool of melted ice cream cake. It looked like a tragic puddle of birthday dreams. The poor thing had completely melted, and we were left with just a very sad, soggy mess. We still laugh about it, and every time I mention ice cream cake, Parker’s face goes a little pale. I’ll never forget the day I accidentally sprayed gasoline all over Parker. We were at the gas station, and I was trying to be helpful—picking up the pump, all ready to fill up. But I guess I didn’t realize the nozzle wasn’t quite secured, and as soon as I squeezed the trigger, gasoline shot out everywhere and all over Parker. He was standing too close, and before he even had a chance to react, he was drenched in gas. There was a moment of stunned silence, and then the look on his face was priceless. I swear, if looks could kill, I would've been in big trouble. Needless to say, we spent the next few minutes laughing so hard we nearly forgot to finish pumping gas. I still don’t think he’s let me live it down, but at least he smelled like gasoline.
