Parker and Sofia met on an Alternative Service Break trip in March of 2017. At the time, Sofia was a sophomore at NC State and had been planning the trip to Punta Gorda, Belize for about 6 months. Although the group met on multiple occasions before we left, it wasn't until they were actually on the trip that Sofia and Parker got to know each other. The first thing you notice when you meet Parker is his gentle, patient demeanor and incredible servant's heart. From the minute Sofia met him she knew he was one of the good ones. Later, she come to find out that Parker was feeling the same way. Fast forward 10 months to January 2018 when Parker finally worked up the courage to ask her out! A full year after their trip, they made it official in March of 2018. They still joke about the period of time that Parker was "too scared to make a move" but in all reality, God's timing could not have been more perfect (as per usual).
