The Placer County Wine and Ale Trail
There are more than 20 wineries in Placer County, each one unique, with a different vibe and different wine varieties. Many of them have tasting rooms in Auburn’s Old Town, but you can also go directly to the source, visiting local vineyards. Two wineries we recommend are Wise Villa Winery and Rancho Robles Winery in Lincoln, CA. Placer County also has 12 award-winning great craft breweries. Two of the most famous breweries are Knee Deep Brewing Company and Crooked Lane Brewing Company.
Enjoy the Beauty of Northern California Hiking
Auburn is surrounded by rolling hills, rivers, ancient conifer and oak forests with miles and miles of hiking trails to explore. A few to consider on your visit: Western States Trail (2 miles): Great for beginners, beautiful views, easy access. Hidden Falls Trail (4.2 miles): This hike suits all ages, and the falls are just stunning! There are also beautiful plans and flowers in bloom in the spring. Foresthill Divide Loop (10 miles): More for experienced hikers - You will get views from Lake Clementine along the way with tons of vegetation and flowers around April.
