Welcome To The Celebration Of

In December of 2019, Parker started her job at Goodwill. Little did she know, this is where she'd meet her soon to be husband. Immediately, Oliver was drawn to her. Even though she wasn't looking to meet anyone, let alone make any friends, Oliver was bound and determined to be in her life. In one of their very first interactions, he told her, "We are going to be friends," and friends they became. Nearly a year later, Oliver pulled up to her house in his little Prius. With a cardboard box he'd decorated to look like a boombox, he opened up Spotify and played her favorite song at the time, Commitment by Luna Luna (great band btw, look them up). Awkward as ever, and giggling the entire time, he presented her with a large chunk of rose quartz, a Naruto trading card, some candy (only sours of course), and a gumball machine ring. The last piece was almost like a foreshadowing for a year later, though neither of them knew that then. One, "Will you be my girlfriend?" later, a beautiful romance was born.

Exactly 364 days after they started dating, Parker and Oliver found themselves in a studio AirB&B in Florida. After a filling meal of Panda Express and midnight approaching soon, they both pulled out their boxes of gifts. Oliver opened Parkers first, a few clothes, a Pop, and a Switch. As excited as he was for his gifts, he was thousands more excited for hers. He set the box in front of her, quickly pulling out an envelope while she opened the rest. A blanket, a candle, a Stitch Pop... One by one she unwrapped each. After the last gift was opened, he handed her the envelope. Scrawled across the front was "One year later..." She opened it up and read it aloud. As she focused on the letter, Oliver got down on one knee in front of her, pulling out the ring he'd been carrying on him for the past month. She read the last line, "So I have one last thing to ask..." and looked up. Oliver smiled softly and finished the sentence, "Will you marry me?" Parkers mouth dropped as she stared in silence before nodding, tears welling in her eyes. Oliver excitedly put the ring on her finger before hugging her tightly. Their adventure was opening its next chapter.
