Some love stories take years to unfold, filled with twists, turns, and chance encounters. But for us, it was as if the universe had simply been waiting for the right moment to bring us together. And when it finally did—thanks to a little dating app called Bumble—it was magic. From our very first date at the Northville Art Fair (aided by henna tattoos and a lot of chips and queso) , our connection was undeniable. It wasn’t just about shared interests or a mutual attraction; it was something deeper. We shared a passion of working with children, exploring, live music, fro-yo, and a lot of true crime (ask us about your favorite Dateline mystery-I bet we have seen it). The more we talked, the clearer it became: this wasn’t just another date or fleeting romance. This was different. On December 22, 2023, Parker planned an elaborate scheme with the hopes of getting Megan to agree to marry him. With the blessing of the Badgero family, Parker secretly set up a staycation at the stylish Shinola Hotel, a fake tour in the beautiful Detroit Opera House, and a celebration with both families. And so, six months after their very first date and an enthusiastic "yes!" from Megan, a new chapter had begun. But love isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s in the little things, too. It’s in buying a house together, turning four walls into a home. It’s in watching our large adult fur babies, Tucker and Houston—each with their own unique quirks—become best friends. It’s in the moments of laughter, quiet understanding, and the certainty that no matter what life will throw at us, we will always have our best friend by our side.
