We ask that guests wear formal attire for the ceremony (no jeans, collared shirts, dresses, etc.) We think it would be fun if guests wore the wedding colors, lilac and sage, if they want to, but is not required. Plan for heat, but the weather can change quickly in the mountains, so be prepared for things to change. We will go on rain, snow, or shine (yes snow), it could be 90 degrees or 60, and change on a dime. Layers are your friend. Some may be asked to wear something specific, but they will be communicated with on a case to case basis.
We would love to celebrate with everyone, however the national park only allows for a limited number of people, so we can only accommodate the invited guests. We also want to keep the wedding private and intimate with our closest friends and family. We will be hosting a reception in November in River Falls, WI where there will be an opportunity for more guests to attend.
With the ceremony taking place on Thursday, July 23rd, I would recommend arriving on Tuesday, July 21st or Wednesday, July 22nd in case there are delays or cancellations to travel plans.
No! Stay where it best suits you and your family! We blocked rooms so, we knew everyone would have a place to stay as the park is busy that time of year and places book up fast.
We ask guests not to plan anything on Thursday, July 23rd as that is the day of the ceremony. However, on the other days we might have a get together of some sort, but nothing else is required for you to attend. We understand that many may be treating this as a vacation, as will we. If we did anything that wasn't on Thursday, we would potentially do something Wednesday night (like happy hour.) Thursday is ceremony day, and we will have an itinerary for that closer to the date, and will be put on this site. Friday, we may do something in the morning if at all (breakfast.) Otherwise, the time is yours to enjoy the beautiful state of MT.
Please text or call either Parker (715-410-2300) or Maddie (715-557-2501). We understand that things come up and this is a big commitment.
Park Passes - I would recommend the standard pass. Information for park passes is on the national parks website, and I believe they can be purchased there as well. Leave No Trace - A philosophy used to keep the park pristine and in good condition for wildlife. - Plan Ahead and Prepare. Know the regulations and special concerns for the area you'll visit. - Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces. - Dispose of Waste Properly. Leave the park with everything you can in with. Trash needs to be packed out or thrown in a trash can. - Leave What You Find. Do not disturb the landscape or bring anything out of the park you didn't enter the park with. This means rocks, flowers, wildlife, etc. Leave it be! - Minimize Campfire Impacts. Probably just don't start any fires in the park. - Respect Wildlife. Keep your distance, these are wild animals and will act as such. Bring bear spray, know what to do if you encounter one. Keep your distance and admire them from afar. - Be Considerate of Other Visitors. I will update this with hikes and things to do in the park as well. I recommend enjoying some time in nature and the park before/after Thursday.
