things to do

King Street

King Street

King Street, Alexandria, VA

King Street is one of our favorite spots in the area and has a little bit of everything—restaurants, cafés, shopping, and a beautiful waterfront at the end. It’s very lively in the summertime, and it was even ranked the 70th most beautiful street in the world by Architectural Digest a couple of years ago! If you have some free time while you’re in town, we definitely recommend taking a walk down King Street and exploring.

Del Ray

Del Ray

Alexandria, VA

Del Ray is one of the best places to walk around! It has a charming, small-town feel that makes you forget you’re only about 20 minutes from DC. Some of our go-to spots are Del Ray Cafe, Just Fine Donuts, Holy Cow, and Planet Wine. Parking can be a little tricky, but it’s absolutely worth the visit if you have the chance!

Royal Restaurant

Royal Restaurant

730 North Saint Asaph Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

The Royal easily became our favorite breakfast and brunch spot! Our first apartment was just two blocks away, so we found ourselves there all the time. If you’re in the area, we highly recommend stopping by for a bite!

Lost Boy Cider

Lost Boy Cider

317 Hooffs Run Drive, Alexandria, VA 22314

One of our favorite local breweries! It’s a great place to grab a drink and hang out. During the summertime there are always lots of people, plenty of dogs, and a food truck!

Occoquan Historic District

Occoquan Historic District

Occoquan Historic District, VA

Occoquan is a really cute little town about 10 minutes from our venue. It has a couple great spots to grab a bite and a super relaxed atmosphere. If you have some extra time while you’re here definitely stop by!
