I still remember when I was first introduced to Parker. I had only been at college for a week and met him through mutual friends. Though I had never been one to fall for someone instantly, Parker and I hit it off right away and spent hours talking, laughing, and hanging out. He was different than anyone I have ever met and I loved how funny he was and how comfortable he made me feel. Two months after we started getting to know each other, he took me on a sunset hike and even though I almost died getting to the top, he made it all worth it by asking me to be his girlfriend. Parker was there for every second of my college life at Liberty and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He was with me when we made new friends and road tripped to fun places all over the East Coast. He challenged me to work hard and achieve my goals . He comforted me during my low points and did everything he could to make me not stress. Even with all those amazing qualities, what made me know that he was the one were his stupid jokes that always made me laugh and, more importantly, his strong love and pursuit for God. After graduating from Liberty and navigating a long-distance, Parker somehow convinced me to move to Michigan where we started our next chapter of being engaged. Although I miss my family and friends back home, I know that this was all a part of God's plan for our story and I cannot wait for the next part of marriage to see what amazing things He has in store for us.
On the day that I met Hannah I was with my then roommate and his brother. I saw my roommate’s brother wearing cargo shorts and I commented, “The only thing those shorts can’t hold, is a conversation with a girl.” After I had offended my roommate’s brother he surveyed a few of the girls around him, and came to the conclusion that I was in fact right. We journeyed to the store to get him a pair of shorts without 8 pockets. However, he thought that were black but they were really a dark purple. As we got back to Liberty’s campus we walked into the parking lot when my roommate’s brother saw a girl from back home with two of her friends. He asks the group what color his shorts were, the two friends said they were black, but the one girl took a closer look and said, “They look like a dark purple to me.” Immediately I had to get to know the girl who said what she thought even when everyone disagreed. And this is how I met Hannah Ginion. Later that week she started sitting with us at lunch. We spent the whole time talking and laughing; I almost forgot to eat. We went to the library together and kind of forgot to study those few weeks (side note: I literally went to the library more that month than I had the entire last 2 years of college. Sorry Mom and Dad). After a few months I asked her out and I somehow got a 10 to say yes to me…I know shocker right! Two years went by very fast and college was finished quickly. I went back to Michigan and Hannah went back to New Jersey. After doing long distance for 7 months, God worked in incredible ways and somehow convinced Hannah to move to Michigan. I am so grateful He has blessed me with such an amazing woman. I love everything about her; the way she lights up a room, how her smile can brighten any day, and how much she loves the Lord has changed my perspective of how God views me. Hannah always stays true to herself and I can’t wait for us to stay true to each other. When the world says black Hannah and I will say purple!
